About the association
The Virginia Association of Personal Care Providers (VAPCP) is the trade association for companies that provide in-home personal care to older adults and people with disabilities who want to stay in their own homes. The association exists so aides can keep making those visits.
Personal care agencies are regulated by DMAS, licensed by the Virginia Department of Health, and paid — for much of this work — by Medicaid managed care. None of those groups is built around agency-directed personal care. VAPCP is. We give agencies the information, the relationships, and the voice in Richmond that they need to keep operating — so their clients can stay in their own homes, and the caregivers who make that possible can earn a living doing it.
The association:
Board members are owners, operators, and senior managers who run agencies of the same kind as the members they represent. They volunteer. Advocacy is done by the Board, committee chairs, and members who take the time to show up — agency owners telling legislators directly what a reimbursement decision does to their caregivers and their clients.
Administration and meeting logistics are handled with ACS West, Inc. in Richmond.
