2025 First Quarter DMAS Meeting

2025 First Quarter DMAS Meeting

We had a great first quarterly meeting with DMAS for 2025! These meetings are a vital part of what VAPCP does behind the scenes to support providers. To find out what was discussed, become a VAPCP member! We email our membership a briefing after each DMAS meeting.

By meeting with DMAS leadership, we can address key issues facing providers and ensure we’re the first to know about any upcoming changes that will impact us and our members.

Advocacy, collaboration, and staying informed—it’s all part of our commitment to Virginia’s personal care provider community!

VAPCP Advocates for Fair Reimbursement Rates – Featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch

At VAPCP, we are constantly working to raise awareness about the challenges facing Virginia’s home care providers. One of the biggest hurdles we face is the lack of a long-overdue increase in Medicaid reimbursement rates.

Today, our advocacy efforts were highlighted in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, where a VAPCP board member penned a Letter to the Editor urging policymakers to take action. Without proper funding, providers struggle to maintain services, and vulnerable Virginians risk losing access to the care they need.

We remain committed to fighting for fair reimbursement and ensuring that home care remains a sustainable option for those who rely on it. Help us spread the word and join us in advocating for change!

Day on the Hill #2- January 31, 2025

This morning, the Virginia Association of Personal Care Providers (VAPCP) was back at the Virginia Assembly to advocate for the future of home care. Our team met with 14 legislators, sharing the urgent need for a reimbursement rate increase to ensure continued access to quality care for those who rely on personal care services.

What’s Next?

Advocacy doesn’t stop here! VAPCP will continue engaging with policymakers, sharing real stories from providers and caregivers, and pushing for the necessary changes. Your voice matters, too! If you’re a provider, caregiver, or family member impacted by these challenges, we encourage you to reach out to your legislators and share your experiences. We make it easy using our Advocacy page!
